Getting started: your first X engagement tracking session

What tendX does, how the sidepanel and dashboard work, and how your data stays private in your browser.

What is tendX?

tendX is a free Chrome extension that logs your outbound engagement on X. Every like, reply, and DM you send gets recorded so you can see who you're actually building relationships with.

Think of it as a personal CRM that lives in your browser. No account needed, no servers involved.

What it tracks

tendX logs three types of interactions you send:

  • Likes you give on someone's posts
  • Replies you write on someone's posts
  • DMs you send in conversations

It only tracks what you do. tendX doesn't monitor incoming likes, mentions, or anything that happens outside your browser.

How the UI works

tendX has two main views:

The sidepanel opens when you click the tendX icon in your toolbar while on X. It shows whether you're tracking that person, your recent interaction history with them, and a quick way to log interactions manually.

The dashboard is a full-page view of everyone you track. You can search, sort by total interactions or last interaction date, and click into any contact to see your complete history with them.

Your data stays on your device

All data lives in your browser's local storage. tendX has no servers and no analytics. Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to sync to Google Sheets (your own sheet, in your own Google Drive).

You can clear all data from the dashboard settings, or delete individual contacts. If you uninstall tendX, everything is removed automatically.

Next steps

After installing tendX, visit any profile on X and click the tendX icon to open the sidepanel. You can start tracking that person with one click. The tracking guide covers auto-tracking, manual logging, and how to use the dashboard. You can also add notes to any contact to remember context beyond the numbers.
